Vortrag auf Einladung des AK Paläolithikum der ÖGUF

The Early Upper Palaeolithic between roughly 50,000 and 35,000 years ago shows a remarkable number of so-called archaeological technocomplexes including the Initial Upper Palaeolithic/Bohunician, Aurignacian, Szeletian, Streletskian, Chatelperronian, Uluzzian, Spitsynian, and Lincombian-Ranisian-Jerzmanovician. It is currently unclear what factors (other than archaeologists) created this variability in our archaeological record. In this talk I explore strategies of how to better understand the factors underlying the diversity of technocomplexes in the Early Upper Palaeolithic of Central and Eastern Europe.
